TRAVEL

  • The nearest airport is Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine), approximately 40 minutes from Airlie Beach. There’s direct flights from most major Australian cities. There is car hire available at the airport, taxi’s and Ubers or airport transfers can be arranged.

    There’s a small airport on Hamilton Island should it be necessary however, it is a much smaller airport and comes with island prices.

  • Flying into Townsville is also an option. Airlie is roughly a 3 hour drive from Townsville but very manageable. This is also the way we will be travelling there a few days prior to the wedding for those who would like to convoy.

  • For those of you who are Australia based and are considering a road trip, it’s such a beautiful part of the world to experience.

    Unless you are driving straight from home. Car hire is available at most airports. Brisbane Airport is about 13 hours drive or from Cairns Airport, about 7 and a half hours.

  • For those of you who would like a little extra support in the book of anything from airport transfers, car hires or even help with flights, please just let us know. We know the area and we (Amy) loves to organise.

STAY

As Airlie Beach is a tourist destination, there are a lot of options available for accommodation. There’s Airbnb’s, Apartments, hotels and also resorts that will all be within a great radius and be suitable to everyones budget.

We are more than happy to help find or review everyone’s accommodation or provide recommendations as needed.

Please be mindful when booking accomodation that it is on the mainland. There are 74 beautiful islands that make up the Whitsundays and some will be much harder to travel to and from.

You can always book accomodation close to the wedding venue for the big day and then treat yourself to an island holiday for a few days afterward. That is exactly what we will be doing!

TRANSPORT

We will be arranging transport on the day of the wedding for all guests who are staying in town. A bus will be organised and the route will be planned according to guests accommodation. This bus will also drop you back at your accommodation at the end of the night

When you have arranged accommodation, please let us know where it is located so we can plan this transport accordingly.

Ubers and taxis are available but it would be best to pre-book these for the day as driver numbers may vary or be unreliable.

For those who have a car, there is limited parking available on-site and can also not be guaranteed.
